Description:
Rafiq Bhatia:
A composer and guitarist who has "wasted no time grabbing wider attention" (Time Out New York), Rafiq Bhatia and his quartet reimagine jazz from a producer-as-composer perspective. The ensemble frames improvisation in layers of orchestration and electronic processing to create a lush and highly detailed musical statement. The quartet will perform a set of original music from their two forthcoming recordings, both set for release in late 2012.

Michael Feinberg's Humblebrag is the new manifestation of his renowned sextet which has spent the past 3 years touring the world (including performances at the Blue Note, Kennedy Center, and South By Southwest Festival) and recorded 2 acclaimed albums. Humblerag takes jazz instrumentation and incorporates elements of indie rock, electronic, avant garde and world music to create a dynamic sound for the rocker, the jazz head, the hip hopper and beyond.
This is the premier performance of the revamped group and will debut an entirely new set!
