Duo Duos! An evening with Putnam Smith & Red Tail Ring
Nationally touring 'modern roots' songwriter Putnam Smith is home for a very special show, joined by cellist extraordinaire April Reed-Cox, playing tunes from Putnam's new record, "We Could Be Beekeepers" which went to #2 on the Folk DJ Charts last summer. Also on the bill is acclaimed guitar/fiddle duo Red Tail Ring from Kalamazoo, Michigan, winner of the WYCE Listener's Choice Jammie Award for Best New Artist of 2011. Both duos blend traditional Appalachian music of the 19th Century with 21st Century songwriting, with a sound that is both antique and modern at the same time.
