Ithaca Roller Derby Season Opener
The Ithaca League of Women Rollers' 2012 flat track roller derby season kicks off Saturday, May 19th! The season begins toe stop to toe stop with the BlueStockings battling the Oz Roller Girls of Oswego, NY. This bout is definitely a grudge match after Oz took the championship (a last jam win of 130-126) over the BlueStockings last year at the Triple D Tournament.
These teams are closely matched, and you can bet our BlueStockings are looking to start the home season with a win! Will the BlueStockings finish the battle against Oz in ruby red skates and send Oz back to Oz? "Just click your wheels three times and say there's nothing like winning!", Dorothy's advice to the BlueStockings.
Come see the rising stars of Ithaca's BlueStockings as our 2012 roster brings you your favorite veteran skaters and our newest class of rookies. This is our fifth season in Ithaca and we can proudly say that roller derby is here to stay! Returning and new fans alike can expect exciting, fast, and revolutionary roller derby at our community-oriented home games. We showcase local talent, local organizations, and provide a fun, accessible sporting event for all ages.
We are so pumped to see you trackside! Your Ithaca SufferJets will be at the game cheering on the BlueStockings, and you can see them playing next on the track June 2nd.

General Admission Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door for adults, 18 and under FREE
There are bleachers for seating and you can bring chairs or cushions to sit on trackside.
Everyone is welcome to the after party at The Westy on 518 W. State St. Enjoy the post-game celebrations and meet the fabulous volunteers, officials, jeerleaders, skaters, fans and sponsors that make ILWR happen!
