Canzona Women's Ensemble presents: Beginning Again
Canzona sings songs of inspiration, hope and renewal on our spring concert Beginning Again, featuring the Brilliante String Quartet. The San Luis Obispo Mission provides the perfect venue for the contemplative setting of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater accompanied by the quartet. Brilliante also joins the ensemble in Eric Whitacre's joyful, romantic Five Hebrew Love Songs, inspired by his wife's poetry. Violist Peter Jandula-Hudson will be featured in the dramatic and poignant Reflections from Yad Vashem, to be followed by Even When He is Silent, a tribute to the human spirit. American composer Alice Parker's rousing arrangement of the hymn tune Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal is a fitting conclusion to this uplifting afternoon of music.
