In a perfect world, we'd have Matt Wilson back every year. You won't meet a more magnanimous soul in the jazz cosmos (maybe not in any cosmos) andno disrespect to our other guestsyou won't find a greater musician, either. Wilson's "Tree-O" (with Jeff Lederer, reeds and Paul Sikivie, bass) takes on the holiday repertoire, both sacred and secular, in ways that are alternately goofy and earnest, inexorable and unpredictableand totally reverent. We know: holiday shows can be dreary and predictable. This one will be utterly fresh.
