Kate Isles "From Home" CD Release Concert at Clyde Iron Works
Duluth-based singer/songwriter, Kate Isles, of the Bill & Kate Isles Band, releases her debut solo album at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth. Backing her will be her band-mates, husband Bill Isles and Derek (Mandolin/Fiddle/Vocals) & Sarah (Upright Bass/Vocals) Birkeland. Other guests include Paul Jones (Steel Guitar/Dobro), Jake Ashworth (Banjo), Lee Johnson (Percussion). Duluth Poet Ellie Schoenfeld will read her poem "There is a River" before Kate and the band are joined by Common Thread, a women's chorus, for Kate's song that is based on the poem. Seven-year-old Aletha Bremer will join Kate on the haunting song, "Big Girl Now". The evening will be full of love songs, dancing, laughter, and fine instrumentation.
