BEYOND THE NOTES
I'm very excited to return to present the second annual BEYOND THE NOTES in Concord on January 29, 2016! We had a killer SOLD-OUT concert last year so be sure to get your tickets early!! If you missed it, we hope to see you this time around!
I'm delighted to be joined this year by my good friend and yet another SYBARITE5 colleague, cellist Laura Metcalf. Together we will present violin/cello duos by Ravel and Handel-Halvorsen, as well as solo works by Bach, Rochberg, Visconti, Kodaly and maybe even some Broadway tunes. It's a little known fact that Laura was a young musical theater star! We have many exciting tricks up our sleeves, including a new spin to answering your questions: we will be posting and answering ALL unanswered questions on the BEYOND THE NOTES website following the concert!
BEYOND THE NOTES is an interactive concert experience that combines concert vignettes and conversations with the performers, allowing the audience an insight into the lives of the artists.
Presented in an intimate setting, BEYOND THE NOTES brings personality to the concert experience. Throughout the evening, casual onstage interviews will be conducted, including biographical to historical as well as questions from the audience, promising a lighthearted evening of music, learning, humor and insight! Following the concert, the audience is invited to a reception to personally meet the artists.
I believe that too often there is a barrier between the audience and the performers when the audience knows little about the musicians they are watching. The mission of BEYOND THE NOTES is to change that dynamic because getting to know the musicians on stage can significantly change the listening experience.
Come join us to go BEYOND THE NOTES!
Warmly,
Sarah Whitney, Founder & Artistic Director
