The Ecology Center is hosting a get-together to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Berkeley passing Measure D, and to debut a short film of the campaign.
Last year, local filmmaker Helen DeMichiel was commissioned to video the final stretch of the campaign. She created a 13-minute short, entitled "Berkeley versus Big Soda." Our hope is that the film will inspire the many cities that are poised to launch a soda tax campaign in 2016.
We are eager to share the film and celebrate. There will be drinks, finger foods, and a short Q&A focused on what has been accomplished in the year since the soda tax passed.
