Band in Seattle live television taping with Chimurenga Renaissance and Clinton Fearon
What's more Seattle than supporting your local businesses? Supporting your local musicians, that's what.  So be a responsible Northwestern-er and get yourself down to Victory Studios for the taping of our next episode of Band in Seattle with artists Clinton Fearon and Chimurenga Renaissance on December 18th, 2015. Each band will perform a 45-minute concert, followed by a filmed interview and music trivia webisode, sponsored in part by American Music.  Front doors open at 6PM at Victory Studios, 2247 15th Avenue West (near the Interbay Golf Center) and the concert ends approximately at 10PM.

Chimurenga Renaissance:
Tendai Maraire and Hussein Kalonji, the artists that make up the hip-hop duo Chimurenga Renaissance, each come from a lineage of deeply talented and respected African musicians.  It is this cultural heritage that inspires their lyrics and reflects the pride and honor they wish to express in their songs.  Their rhymes are captivating and their beats reflect their knowledge of genresmixing jazz, hip-hop, world, and blues together to create an original sound while still paying homage to those that have come before them.

Clinton Fearon:
Veteran Reggae artist and poet, Fearon's inspiring music is a call to action.  His songs range from cultural pride to compassion for humanity to enjoying the little things.  Add to that his smooth, smoky vocals backed by a relaxed guitar and percussion; and you find yourself in a paradox of aspiring to better the world while simultaneously wanting to chill out.

So come on down for some free beer provided by North Coast Brewing, an intimate concert experience, and a chance to see first hand what Victory Studios is doing to bring exposure to one of the most versatile and talented music scenes in the nation.  And don't forget to catch new episodes of Band in Seattle Saturdays on KSTW, CW11 at 11pm.
