Continental Divide Music Festival
The Continental Divide Music and Film Festival is Friday and Saturday, August 17-18, 2012 in New York Mills, MN. Admission to Friday events is free; concerts on Saturday require ticket admission. All events handicap accessible and kid-friendly.
Friday events in downtown NYM include an annual community celebration in Central Park from 4-7pm. Festivities include a Corn Feed, food booths, kids games, and steamroller print-making. At 7pm our annual large-scale Puppet Pageant will be performed behind the Cultural Center with music by Curtis & Loretta. Immediately following, the Cactus Blossoms will play at the City Hall Ballroom, followed by the Film Festival at 9:15pm. Free childcare available 7:30-10:30pm; call with kids ages to reserve a spot 218-385-3339.
Saturday concerts at the NYM VFW outdoor stages include Haley Bonar Band, The Pines, Erik Koskinen, Galactic Cowboy Orchestra, Tim Sparks, Elisa Korenne, Pocahontas County, Caitlin Robertson, and Erik & Pete Keranen. Concerts begin at 12:30pm and continue to 11pm. Saturday admission is $20 for adults 19 & up and $10 for youth 13-18 (youth 12 & under free).
Camping is available Friday and Saturday. Campground is adjacent to VFW concert grounds. Cost is $15 per person for the weekend (kids 12 & under are free). Call 218-385-3339 for more information/reservations.
Breakfast available Sunday morning at the VFW.
Bad weather venue is NYM City Hall Ballroom.
