JT Kyrke AUM Birmingham
From a life of ducking and diving Electric Spivs formed at the beginning of 2013 are based between Leamington Spa and rural Suffolk. Their music has a firm footing in modern bass culture but also takes elements of 70's funk, 80's electro pop and punk to create their diverse sound.
Inspired by experiences such as busking Django tunes, lighting circuses, stilt walking and driving trucks and free party rigs around Europe, the band have an eclectic range of influences. Mixing heavy electronic sub with live funk bass lines, acid synths and punk guitars, Electric Spivs make original party music to put a smile on your face.
Electric Spivs are currently playing gigs and festivals around the UK and getting play on BBC introducing. Loving playing and writing original music that people find hard to put into a box the future looks exciting for Electric Spivs!
Their latest album Sonic Crimes is available on 100% APE.
THE HUNGRY GHOSTS
The Hungry Ghosts are from Birmingham. They make garage blues and trash folk, music from the other side of the fence.
This is how The Hungry Ghosts have been described.......
"Local heroes The Hungry Ghosts took things deep into swampy and dark electric beatnik territory, all Bringing It All Back Home-era electric Bob Dylan meets White Stripes southern discomfort Americana. Ecstatically loud and swaggering, with lyrical content that would stand brooding comfortably on its own on the printed page, this was heady stuff. Ones to seriously watch. Boot lace ties and all."
- DB Schenker, Louder Than War
