Clinton Fearon & Boogie Brown Band New Year's Eve Reggae Jam
New Year's Resovolution (Resolution + Revolution) asks that we take a moment to assess the state of the world and consider what we as individuals can do in 2008 to make it a better place.
The all-day/all-night event starts with a free art show and information exchange during the afternoon, and culminates with the joyful and righteous sounds of Seattle roots reggae and live dub legend Clinton Fearon and Boogie Brown Band playing from 9 pm till past midnight to usher in the new year in a way that will "disturb the devil."
Other speakers and performers will punctuate the evening with brief presentations. After-hours dancing orchestrated by DJ Dr. Rich Lehl and guests.
Cash bar with reasonably priced drinks. This is a not-for-profit event. Ticket price covers overhead.
We are throwing this party because we believe that art, music, free expression, and community hold the answers to the problems facing today's world.
We want to be realistic about the state of things but also maintain a positive, pro-active attitude moving into the new year.
We hope you'll join us for what will surely be a night to remember.
