Cherry Poppin Daddies
Saturday Aug 4th 2012 "The Cherry Poppin'Daddies", one of our greatest northwest treasures, are playing n Anacortes out doors on the waterfront at Seafare's Memorial Parkat Cap Sante Boat Haven.
The Daddies became an international sensation with their 1998 multi-platinum smash; "Zoot Suit Riot: the Swingin' hits of The Cherry Poppin Daddies", but for those of us who have known and loved them for 22 years we know them as an all encompassing showcase of genre crossing musicianship. From; swing, funk, ska, rock, soul, motown, to even the odd Irish drinking anthem, The CPD's beautifully written and executed arrangements are timeless and diverse with an ever present danceablity. Few bands put on as great a show as the energetic Cherry Poppin' Daddies, so do yourself a favor and catch this band wherever and whenever they come to your town! The Daddies will be supported by local reggae, ska, rock, heroes "Nigel Mustafa" and Arlington's own ska band spectacular, "The Skablins".
The show starts at 7:00 with the Skablins, followed by Nigel Mustafa, then "The Cherry Poppin' Daddies close out the night. This is all ages show. beer and wine will be served with proper ID.
