Harpsichordist Carsten Schmidt and music historian Jason Stell discuss and demonstrate the history of the Toccata as a genre of keyboard music, looking at two centuries examples that culminate in examples by J. S. Bach. (This event precedes the concert performance of several Toccatas and French Suites, Sunday May 27.)
