Bonfest 2016
Bonfest 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the rock music festival in honour of AC/DC's Bon Scott. It takes place in Bon's Scottish hometown of Kirriemuir.
As well as the 10th anniversary it will also see the unveiling of a life sized bronze statue of Bon in the town.
The festival features the best tribute bands from all over Europe, playing this year we have BACK:N:BLACK from Switzerland, Chaman from Spain, BON The AC/DC Show from Germany and all the way from Australia, the drummer on AC/DC's High Voltage album, Tony Currenti performing with Pure/DC.
We also have several special guests over the weekend,drummer on the Rock or Bust video Bob Richards will be in town. Special friend of Bon, and co-author of the new memoir "Live Wire" Mary Renshaw, will take part in a Q&A session. Finally our star guest is the legendary guitar player Mark Evans. Mark played on 5 of the classic Bon era albums, and was a close personal friend of Bon. Mark will also host a Q&A and will be playing a few songs over the course of the weekend too.
As well as our three evening concerts there is three days of free live music in local pubs, a record fayre and a custom Harley show.
All in all this will be a weekend that AC/DC fans and lovers of rock will not want to miss!
