This holiday season the Chorale spans the continents with music from many cultures and traditions, among them Brazil, Ireland, Canadian Huron, Jamaica,and Africa, finishing with a hilarious musical spoof of The Twelve Days of Christmas. We're also excited to perform Director Miller's recent composition, Virga Jesse Floruit, a tenderly meditative setting of medieval text depicting the birth of Christ, from a collection of Gregorian chants.
We are delighted that once again we will be joined by the young women of the Olympic Girls' Choir in a rousing presentation of the opening sequence music from the movie "Frozen", based on the traditional chant of the Sami people of Scandinavia and Russia.
The Family Holiday Concert is a one-hour, family-friendly presentation of some of the same repertoire, and will include an appearance of our youngest singers, the Bainbridge Youth Chorale, directed by Youth Chorale Artistic Director Matthew Blegen.
