Dana Lyons is best known for his comedy hit song Cows with Guns. He has recorded eight albums during his lifetime artistic career, including Circle the World and At Night They Howl at the Moon: Environmental Songs for Kids. Working around the Earth to raise awareness, activism, and funds for environmental and social justice issues, Dana has collaborated with Dr. Jane Goodall and her environmental group Roots and Shoots. Bringing together a mix of comedy, ballads and love songs, Dana's sharp wit and beautiful voice have him performing at venues across the US and around the world. Dana lives in Bellingham.
Ken Bevis utilizes his ecological knowledge as Stewardship Wildlife Biologist for the Department of Natural Resources to create wonderfully moving and informative songs about our environment. Ken is a lifelong hunter, fisherman, bird watcher and naturalist. He lives in the Methow Valley with his wife Teri. Ken will be singing songs from his soon-to-be-released debut album.
The mission of the Methow Valley Citizens' Council (MVCC) is to raise a strong community voice for protection of the Methow Valley's natural environment and rural character.
-EDUCATE the public and decision makers on key environmental and land use issues that define the character of the Methow Valley. -ENGAGE citizen participation so our collective voice is heard. -ADVOCATE and, when necessary, use legal tools to ensure that environmental laws and regulations are followed.
The Methow Valley Citizens' Council has a distinguished history of fighting for progressive land use and environmental values in the Methow Valley since 1976.
MVCC pursues its work by monitoring planning activities at the county and local level; tracking development proposals; writing letters to the editor and elected officials; mobilizing our supporters; and using the law to preserve this place. We continue our mission and history as a strong voice and watchdog for actions that would affect the quality of the natural and rural environment of the Methow Valley.
