Hollowbody Electric Band
Hollowbody Electric Band features Johannah Harkness on keyboards, Sheldon Bird on bass, Mike Auger on drums, and Peter Alexander on guitars. All four members sing, giving rise to a lot of three and four-part harmonies, with Alexander, Harkness and Bird taking the lead vocal on a different songs, providing a rich mix of sounds in a classic rock mode.
This is one band that is not afraid to take on social and political causes. Alexander has gained international recognition as the author and performer of "Begging for ChangeThe Healthcare Blues," which Amy Goodman has featured numerous times on her nationally-syndicated Democracy Now television and radio program. You can see an animated performance of the song from a DC rally for universal healthcare here. Peter's 'We've Got to Change This World' has been adopted by many in the Occupy Wall Street movement as an anthem celebrating the "Ninety-nine Percent.
