Festival of the Silk Road - 2012
Afsaneh Art & Culture Society Ballet Afsaneh proudly presents Festival of the Silk Road, a full of evening of dance, music and poetry from the Silk Road including Iran, Turkey, China, India, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on Sunday, May 6th, 2012.
Ticket Prices include both the 7:00pm Evening Concert
Plus Family Fun in the Gardens! Starting at 3:00pm
with the Silk Road Bazaar
The Festival of the Silk Road unites some phenomenal Bay Area dance and musical guests to celebrate the rich cultural traditions of the Silk Road. A spectacular Chinese dragon will be making a grand appearance during the evening concert in honor of the Chinese year of the dragon. Concert runs from 7:00 - 9:30pm
Not-to-miss pre-performance Family Fun starts at 3pm in the lovely gardens of the Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater including folk dancing and cultural exhibits. The ever popular Silk Road Bazaar will offer traditional clothing, art, and a few light refreshments.

Ballet Afsaneh invites you to come celebrate the Silk Road along with our many talented guest artists. The critically acclaimed company performs gorgeously crafted, authentic and rarely-seen traditional dances from Central Asia and Iran, from the lush and glittering lyricism of fairytale to incisive, thought provoking, contemporary work.
Ballet Afsaneh presents concerts and activities throughout the year featuring dance, poetry, and music of the Silk Road the historic trade route stretching 7,000 miles across Eurasia from the China Sea in the east to the Mediterranean in the west.
