Julia Nixon Returns
Julia Nixon, home girl diva and Helen Hayes Award winner has been on the DC music scene for more then 20 years since she performed at Mr. Henry's in the mid 80's. Julia will be performing again at @ Henry's Upstairs, the recently restored historic music venue. She will be performing with her longtime pianist, David Ylvisaker.
Upon first hearing Julia Nixon, you notice people sit up a little taller and smiles begin showing up all over the room. Yes, in this day and age of MTV, VH1, video games and 20-second-commercial attention spans, this lady can stand on a stage and engage her audience with her voice, showmanship, and interpretive skills. Julia Nixon's classically trained voice is as enchanting with a 120-piece orchestra, a jazz trio, or singing on a stool unplugged in the crook of a grand piano. You can't help falling in love with this singer.
Within this women's voice are echoes of pop, rock, jazz, country gospel and blues. This equals a unique performance each time you hear her. Her professionalism and unselfish love of performing creates a show where she gives nothing less than 110%.
