Colors of the Sun (Sunday April 29 @ 4pm)
Melodia Women's Choir of New York City, Cynthia Powell Artistic Director, concludes its ninth season with "Colors of the Sun." Featuring: Johannes Somary: "Many Colored Brooms," with poetry by Emily Dickinson; Vaughan Williams: Magnificat; Rachmaninoff: "Six Songs for Female Chorus;" and works by Karen P. Thomas and Veljo Tormis. Durufle: "Recit and Variations" (selections) for flute, viola and piano is also featured.
Performers include Melodia Women's Choir, Cynthia Powell, Artistic Director, Taisiya Pushkar (piano), Nathalie Joachim (flute/piccolo), and Stephanie Griffin (viola).
Also on Saturday May 5 at 8PM, when the NY premiere of and Jonathan Dove's "It Sounded as if the Streets were Running" will also be featured.
