Ferndale Repertory Theatre will proudly present the North Coast premier of the hit Broadway musical [title of show]. Featuring music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell, this love letter to musical theatre tells the story of two struggling young artists who decide to write an original work for a musical theatre competition even though the deadline is just three weeks away. With the help of their friends, the two men write and perform a show in the festival, along the way learning about themselves as people, friends, and artists.
The evolution of [title of show], from its smash debut at the New York Musical Theatre
Festival in the fall of 2004, to its successful Off-Broadway run at the Vineyard Theatre in
February 2006, to its debut on Broadway in July, 2008, is chronicled in this "zesty, sweet and
charming new musical." (The New York Times). For his book for [title of show], Hunter Bell earned an Obie Award, a Drama League nomination, and a 2009 Tony nomination for Best Book of a Musical. The pair is also well-known as the creators of the popular web series "the [title of show]
show" (http://www.youtube.com/user/titleofshow) and worked together on a sitcom pilot for ABC Television.
Philip De Roulet and Craig Waldvogel will play Jeff and Hunter in the FRT production which will also feature popular FRT actress Elena Tessler, new comer Jo Kuzelka as Susan and Heidi and Laura Welch (Accompanist) The production team includes: Ned Daniell (Lighting and Sound Design) Eva Willoughby (Stage Manager) and Ginger Gene (Producer). This production is rated PG-13 for mature subject matter, language and brief nudity.
[title of show] will run for two nights only at Ferndale Repertory Theatre in the historic Victorian Village of Ferndale, CA.
