Chopin: Love Remembered Reformed Chopin addict Hsia-Jung Chang plays some of the works which lead to her eight-year exclusive journey with Chopin's music, featuring the G Minor Ballade, C-sharp Minor Scherzo, Trois nouvelles études, and Chopin's posthumous Waltz in A-flat, written on the occasion of his farewell to Maria Wodzińska, to whom he was once betrothed. Join Chang as she shares her musicological findings on this waltz and another work in which Chopin, then already living with George Sand, composes a musical remembrance of his love for Maria. Hsia-Jung Chang Bio: Pianist Hsia-Jung Chang is equally at home performing Chopin Etudes on a Viennese 1828 Graf piano, as she is playing Carman Moore's Mystery of Tao on synthesizer. Chang has recorded close to 60 works by Frédéric Chopin. Her recording of Chopin: Complete Préludes, recorded on a rebuilt 1907 Pleyel piano, has generated a lot of interest worldwide. It was showcased on Reflections from the Keyboard with David Dubal on WQXR, CBC radio program As It Happens, WJFF, KPBX, and WKCR radio interviews, and numerous other radio stations. All of Chang's recordings are available on the Mandala Studio label on CDBaby.com and on iTunes. Piano Lunch Series is a mini noonday series designed for audiences who might like to attend a short concert during their lunch hour. It is presented by piano geeks and often features intense and or esoteric repertoire.
