Ten Tracks presents Rainbow Fisher and Wounded Knee
RAINBOW FISHER
Is the new project of Glasgow-based singer/songwriter/producer Tom Davis.
Tom has amassed a loyal cult following playing with his former band Rags & Feathers (Lucky Number Nine records) and solo as Tom Snowball. His songwriting style is Americana-tinged indie/folk which is melodic, catchy and poetic. With this wonderful 4-track EP of sea-themed songs, led by a new recording of Tom's perennial live favourite, "By The Sea", Rainbow Fisher aim to make a big impact on the Scottish indie/folk/songwriter scene.
Tom has played alongside many many great artists, including Jeffrey Lewis, Chad Vangaellen, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Eugene McGuinness and Adam Stearns and the Glass Animals. His music has wowed crowds at the famous Nice N Sleazy open mic nights for several years and is held in high regard by songwriting contemporaries. Including fellow open-mic-scene luminaries such as Jo Mango, Louis Abbot (Admiral Fallow), Ben TD (Open Swimmer). In fact many regard Tom as Glasgow's great undiscovered singer-songwriter.
BY THE SEA EP available from RAINBOWFISHER.BANDCAMP.COM from 11/03/2012
WOUNDED KNEE
Wounded Knee is Drew Wright, a singer, experimental vocalist and sometime children's entertainer based in Edinburgh who has been active since 2004. Drawing from a variety of influences his music ranges from stripped down folk balladry to abstract improvised vocalic experiments. He is primarily a solo performer and uses an Akai Headrush 2 loop pedal or accompanies his singing with a Shruti Box or two string guitar.
