Tribute to Patsy Cline
Margo Anderson's "Tribute to Patsy Cline" is a show filled with the beautiful ballads of country music's all-time favorite female vocalist, Virginia Patterson Hensley, known to millions of fans as, Patsy Cline. Margo Anderson's voice has been described as one of the best "live-performance" sounds on today's circuit of touring musicians and performers. The clarity and power of her voice leaves audiences amazed everywhere she performs, and the "down-home" humor, wit, and personality of Margo will warm your heart as you remember the life and music of the immortal Patsy Cline through dialog, all of her best-loved ballads, and seven beautiful costume changes which reflect the early years of rising young star of the late 1950's, the zenith of her career , and the tragedy which ended her life at the age of 30. The story is told not only through her music, but through a powerful narration by Dr. Shane Collins, popular syndicated D.J. whose programs are heard on 92.5 Country FM in Panama City, Florida, Chatanooga, Tennessee, and Birmingham, Alabama. Her musicians, the seven members of The Country Classic Band, is led by Larry Bullock, one of the nations top-rated pedal steel guitar players, and the Purvis brothers, Mike and Frank, on lead and bass guitars. Anderson has opened for Grammy-award winner Juice Newton, country superstar Aaron Tippen, and has also sung the National Anthem with the United States Army Band at the Indianapolis National Drag Racing finals, and with the Golden Knights precision parachute team of the United States Army landing around her as she sang. She has also appeared as the feature vocalist on national television singing the National Anthem for the Louden, New Hampshire and Indianapolis NASCAR races, and for the past three summers has performed in concert, "Vive Selena" in Costa Rica, Central America. Her charity concerts have included the Disabled Veterans of America, and she was involved in a concert/project in Northwest Florida which raised$17,000 for the Fisher House, an organization which provides free lodging near VA hospitals for the families of wounded veterans. In recent months she has raised money through her concerts for tornado victims in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Haven Hospice in Central Florida. In addition to her "Tribute to Patsy Cline", Margo also tours with "Tribute to Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion", and most recently, with Dr. Shane Collins in their, "Tribute to George Jones and Tammy Wynette", all of which feature her uncanny ability to capture the voices of the stars of both yesterday and today, with her own special flair and style.
