SFJFF Film Festival Film Screening of "Torn"
Romuald Jakub Weksler Waszkinel was left on the doorstep of a Polish gentile family by his mother Batia in 1943. Ronit Kertsner's heartfelt and insightful documentary captures the poignant struggle of a hidden child whose search for identity raises questions about who is a Jew and what being Jewish means. Preceded by The Passion According to the Polish Community of Pruchnik, a verité documentary about the Easter customs of a small Polish town.
