Loves Me, Loves Me Not
In their mid-season concert, the Hollywood Master Chorale explores the most passionate of human emotions: love. Johannes Brahms was no stranger to unrequited love - having harbored a flame for his mentor's wife, Clara Schumann - and his collection of Liebeslieder Walzer captures perfectly the throes of love. The Hollywood Master Chorale will perform all eighteen waltzes with the help of the rollicking, four-hand piano accompaniment. The program also features Gustav Holst's haunting setting of the folk song, "I Love My Love," a cheeky opera chorus by Kirke Mechem called "Lighthearted Lovers," and the King's Singers arrangement of Billy Joel's heart-breaking song, "And so it goes." Led by Artistic Director, Lauren Buckley, the Hollywood Master Chorale invites you to join us for an evening of love, loss, and laughter.
