Cultivating Success: Agricultural Entrepreneurship & Farm Business Planning
This in-depth business planning course covers evaluating resources, planning and research, legal and management issues, marketing strategies, budgets and financial statements and cultivating money resources. Participants produce a completed business plan by completion of course. Farmers and small business resource providers serve as guest speakers, bringing real world experience to the class. Students complete a business plan that they can take to the bank/lenders.
This course is designed for farmers, fishermen, shellfish growers, or food/value-added producers who are ready to write a complete business plan or an existing business who wish to tighten up their plan or expanding their operation. Each farm will be given a USB thumb drive with all course materials.
Please note that there are 2 all day Saturday workshops that are required to attend for completion of the course.
"Financial Planning" Saturday November 7th from 9:00am-4:00pm in Sequim (location TBA) Topics include: -5 C's of Credit, Lender Relationship -Lending Programs Targeting Small Farmers/Fishermen -Farm Accounting and Bookkeeping -Financial Statements & Ratios that matter -Enterprise Budgeting
"Business Plan Expert Review" Saturday December 5th from 10:00am-2:00pm in Sequim (location TBA) You will have an opportunity to consult with the following experts on your business plan: -Editor -Financial Specialist -Marketing Writer -Small Farm Planner -Expert Small Business Owner -Farmer
