A Taste of the Oscars

It's a special time of year for resolutions. Everybody has something, whether it be losing weight, reading that massive tome gathering dust on the shelf, or cleaning the bathroom more often. How about becoming that wonderfully cultured person you've always wanted to be? The one who can discuss both wine and this year's Oscar frontrunners with ease? 826michigan invites you to share an evening with film critic Jeff Meyers at "A Taste of the Oscars" -- helping you become the person you resolved to be in 2012.

Metro Times film critic and 826michigan board member Jeff Meyers will be discussing clips from five 2012 Best Picture nominees. Attendees will enjoy the storied atmosphere of Kerrytown Concert House as they sip five delicious wines -- one for each nominee -- and learn an insider's perspective on the year 2011 in film. Wines will be chosen by event partner Everyday Wines. Proceeds from "A Taste of the Oscars" will benefit the next generation of film critics and screenwriters by supporting 826michigan's free creative writing and tutoring programs for students 6-18 in Washtenaw County.
