New Years Eve Celebration of Kirtan & Dance

Located at the beautiful Laughing Waters Retreat Center (Gerton, NC) 20 minutes South of downtown Asheville on Route 74. The evening will begin with a Kirtan led by Sangita Devi Kirtan and friends - with more special guests to be announced soon. Feels like it's going to be a super high Kirtan!!:

The Kirtan will flow into an interactive group ceremony to create intention - and that intention will lead us into an Ecstatic Dance wave to bring in the New Year!! The Ecstatic Dance will be mixed live by Asheville's very own Robert Kochka. (See below for more info on Ecstatic Dance).

VOLUNTEERING: There will be a limited number of work/trade options for people who would like to participate but who are tight with funds. If this is something that interests you, please email nadirhythms@gmail.com.

WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?: It is free-form dance to a soundtrack that is designed to take you on a journey from a deep reflective space, all the way up to a driving high energy peak - and back down again. Some people meditate, some people do yoga, and some dance into sweaty ecstatic joy! :) The most important thing is that other peoples' safety is honored. This is not an "Asheville Movement Collective" event - though the dance wave format will be similar. This dance will be longer and it will have more of an emphasis in the higher energy world dance and electronic fusion realms of music.

OVERNIGHT INFO: If you wish to stay overnight, there are a couple of options. There are 3 rooms available - two rooms have double beds (one room is upstairs and the other room is downstairs) and the third room is downstairs and has two twin beds and a private bathroom. Each room is $100 for the evening/night. If you would like to reserve a room, or have questions about the rooms, please email nadirhythms@gmail.com.

Camping: $10 a person, and if you would like to sleep on the floor in the main building, it is also $10 a person. If you are interested in either of these options, please bring cash and pay at the door.

People will likely be up late - as it is New Years Eve, and the amplified music will go past midnight. We can say that the dance wave will have ended by 1AM. If inclement weather forces us to cancel the event all tickets will be refunded. Thank you all, and we look forward to sharing this beautiful experience with you!
