Brenda Bennett and Blue Bamboo
Singer-songwriter Brenda Bennett, known locally as a member of Ken Lyon's Tombstone Blues Band, and known worldwide as a member of Prince's back up singers and associates, Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6, was born Brenda Mosher into a musical household in Warwick, Rhode Island in the winter of 1952. Her mother played piano, accordion and sang; her father was a fine guitarist; and country music was the order of the day.
Brenda was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame this year. You can read more about her extensive performance, production, parenting and recent solo careers here:
