On Schubert's Late Style
Pianist Carsten Schmidt and music historian Jason Stell team up to discuss and demonstrate aspects of Schubert's late instrumental style. With the example of "late Beethoven" so omnipresent, one wonders if Schubert--who died at age 31--could even have a "late" style. But notable changes appear in his works after 1824 as his health gradually failed.
