Grudge Rock: The Grindylow vs The Downstrokes
Grudge Rock : Rock N' Roll Family Feud at The Re-Bar Thursday Dec. 1st
Those of you with elephantine memories might recall that Grudge Rock host Prof. Jake Stratton once was the singer for BloodHag. When BloodHag broke up the other members formed other bands, one of which is now about to Grudge Rock! The Grindylow contains Brent and Zach of BloodHag, but don't worry about favoritism, Jake hates both these guys! It's the rock fight of the century: THE GRINDYLOW vs THE DOWNSTROKES! The Re-Bar 1114 Howell St. (Howell at Boren) 21+ $8 Thu. Dec. 1st 9pm doors show starts exactly at 10pm
Last month I unveiled the new set and my new suit, what surprises await these two stalwart competitors? Who will be the new Grudge Rock champions THE DOWNSTROKES or THE GRINDYLOW?
One band will win and get ALL THE DOOR MONEY! One band will lose and get FABULOUS CONSOLATION PRIZES! Both bands PLAY LIVE and rock the Re-Bar down to the ground!

ABOUT GRUDGE ROCK:
Every month for the last two years we have taken two local bands and made them play the classic game show Family Feud, hosted by Professor Jake Stratton (announcer for the Rat City Rollergirls and former vocalist for BloodHag), with all the questions being about what the bands know best: Music. We ask about 5 questions per half (about 20 minutes), and each team scores points. The band that leads at the end of the first half gets to choose whether they want to play a set right then or at the end of the show. A band plays, then we take a brief break and on with the second half. Whichever band has the most points at the end of the second half is the winner and gets the coveted prize: All the door money and their name on our Grudge Rock Plaque of Fame. The loser gets to take home a plethora of Fabulous Consolation Prizes and any groupies they can cull from the audience.
We've had all manner of great bands go head to head in our two year history: Akimbo vs. Helms Alee, Mad Rad vs. They Live, Head Like A Kite vs. BOAT, Patrol vs. The Abodox, Thee Emergency vs. A Gun That Shoots Knives, The Quiet Ones vs. The Cute Lepers, Skelator vs. Scorched Earth, Lesbian vs. The Family Curse, He Whose Ox Is Gored vs Grenades, We Wrote The Book On Connectors vs M.Bison, Great Falls vs Smooth Sailing and many more. For more info on the show, rules, and our hall of champions, check out our facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=60620246404 or go brush the cobwebs off our myspace page www.myspace.com/rocknrollfamilyfeud, and check out this article in The Stranger: http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/name-seattles-funnest-new-rock-night/Content?oid=1192539 and this one in the weeklyhttp://www.seattleweekly.com/2009-02-11/music/rocket-queen-dead-are-alive.
The losing bands aren't really losers, since they walk away with a ton of prizes from our fine sponsors: Crown Black Car, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Scarecrow Video, Fantagraphics Books, Pierced Hearts Tattoo & Piercing, Trading Musician, Singles Going Steady, Archie McPhee, Babeland, Verellen Amplifiers, Skydottir Epic Cookies, Sin In Linen, and the Rat City Rollergirls!
