Ear to the Earth 2007: Walter Branchi
On Friday, October 19,, at 7pm, EMF presents three pieces from Walter Branchi's work for flute and electronics, Intero, performed by David Monacchi on bansuri flute.
Branchi writes, "A synthesis of computer generated music, the sounds, colors and smells of three different locations, my music reaches out to embrace the world around it. Although it can be independent with regards to where it is performed, it has a definite tendency to integrate with its surroundings. There is no thematic process, no beginning or end, no repetition or reference points, this allows for a fusion with the 'here and now' of the physical space in which it is performed."
