An Evening with Heather Maloney, Flightless Buttress, and Dietrich Strause!
Thursday Dec. 8th is For the Sake of the Song presents an evening with Heather Maloney, Flightless Buttress, and Dietrich Strause in a celebration of some of the region's best and most unique folk, americana, and roots performers.

Heather Maloney is a rising star in the New England music scene having played over 225 shows in 20 states in 20 months, sharing the stage with such celebrated acts as Jonny Lang, Vance Gilbert, David Wax Museum, and many others. Her latest album Time & Pocket Change has been called "Terrific" (Huffington Post), "Poignant" (Portsmouth Herald), and "Powerful" (Rochester City News).

Flightless Buttress is John Nolan and Calin Peters. They're from Cambridge, Massachusetts. They play instrumental music that's easy to listen to but hard to describe. Singer-songwriters without a singer? Instrumental film score-y new-folk? How about a recent write-up from the Boston Band Crush music blog, "This pair crafts casually simple yet brutally intricate pieces out of four hands, two instruments, and ten strings, and the dynamics of the two instruments fill up the [music] with an impossible amount of substance."

A young songwriter emerging out of Boston, Dietrich Strause has been drawing in and silencing the chatter of audiences with the literate poetry that is at the core of his folk roots writing."He writes poignantly about romance, innocence and the opposite poles of country vs. city life. a first-rate lyricist"Steve Morse, Boston Globe
