MR. WONDERFUL - THE MUSIC OF GEORGE DAVID WEISS
Musical theatre and cabaret stars, including Shirley Jones, Patrick Cassidy, Barbara Morrison and Julie Garnye, led by Musical Director Tom Griep with Denise Fraser on drums, will perform the music of George David Weiss in a "Rick's Pix" Actors' Fund benefit produced by renowned Los Angeles music historian Rick Starr. Weiss, the composer of such songs as "Mr. Wonderful", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "Lullaby of Birdland", "Can't Help Falling in Love", "Too Close for Comfort", among other songs, had many hits, recorded by such legends as Elvis Presley, Sammy Davis Jr., Sarah Vaughn, Patti Page and Kay Starr. Ticket price ($25 online, $30, subject to availability, at the door) includes wine, beverages and light fare. One performance only, Sunday, November 20th at 5PM, concert will be held in a private home in the Studio City area (exact location released after ticket purchase.) All proceeds will benefit the Actors' Fund.
