Event

East Coast Skating and Reffing Clinic
Hosted by Chesapeake Roller Derby, and led by the sister duo and MADE veterans of South Jersey Derby Girls, Mos Deathly and Billy Rae Siren, this clinic will give skaters the opportunity to learn the latest MADE tricks and strategies, while fine tuning their understanding of the MADE Ruleset.

Taking place at the Danielle Shipley Memorial Arena at 706 Agricultural Center Drive, Westminster, MD, the all day event will include four hours of assorted skills classes, followed by an hour scrimmage and referee practice  concluding with a two-hour referee discussion.

There is a $5 FACILITY FEE per person, payable online or at the door. (There is a small service fee for paying online. To avoid the additional service fee, choose the "Free" option for payment and bring $5 in cash to the event.)

The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov 6.

Please bring your skating gear, pads and helmets.  Also - bring a lawn chair if you have one - it's an ag center, not many places to sit.

Lunch - we'll be collecting $$ for pizza; there's a Sheetz deli and some other places nearby as well. Or you can bring your own!

Q&A

Question: I am brand new to derby...I get my gear on thursday, and I'm wondering if I should still come to this clinic. I am NOT a good skater...yet...What do you think? Thanks Tripsie Sparkles
Answer: Hi! If you are still getting your skate legs, it might be better for you to observe and participate in the ref/rules discussion. You'll learn a lot (and of course, you can always throw on your skates/gear and get in there for any skills where you feel comfortable. But if you are BRAND new, you might be better off observing! But you are welcome in any case - it's a huge place, plenty of room to skate regardless. (Major Anxiety, CRD)
