Event

Amelia Hogan and Deborah Hamouris House Concert
Two crafters-of-song blend voices & instruments for an evening of traditional and contemporary folk music with a smattering of originals. Tales from Ireland to Appalachia, London to Berkeley, Old New York to New Orleans, plus a few dance tunes to send us on our merry way down the road.

Deborah "DJ" Hamouris has been circlesinging for over a decade and has been healed & inspired by this singing form. Recovering from a classical music education, circlesinging led her to jazz performance, composition, and all-round loosening up of the musical reins. Deborah teaches mountain dulcimer, directs Women & Song (women's singing ensemble), and plays as part of The DulciMates, a duo with husband, Buffalo. In her spare time, she knits. www.djhamouris.com

Amelia Hogan was singing before she could walk, and has sung in the Irish tradition of Sean Nòs, or Irish Old style, and improv singing for more than 20 years, and led singing workshops across the country for years. Amelia has attended sessions the world over, and occasionally teaches folks how to do those crazy ornamentation things too. She also, paints, draws, and works with her partner Caith Threefires as a part of the dark acoustic group, Threefires. http://www.Ameliaisaverb.com/
