Tarryn Smith
Tarryn Aimée Smith is a Nashville based singer-songwriter with a pure voice that some describe as an "edgier Allison Krauss." She plays regularly at local restaurants and private parties, accompanying herself on guitar and mandolin, or with a band at music venues and festivals in Tennessee and various other states.  Tarryn has been a featured artist on the Billy Block Show multiple times with her songs played live on Nashville's WKDF and was voted "WMBA Entertainer of the Year" in 2009 by the Women's Music Business Association. In the fall of 2010 she attended Tom Jackson's Live Music Bootcamp and won the "Top Performer" award, gaining her a recording session with award-winning producer, Mark Heimmerman. Tarryn writes lyrics that capture everyday life experiences, and some of her tunes have been cut by other artists and placed on award-winning albums. She and her co-writers, Wil Nance and Steve Dean, penned the title cut of Jeff and Shari Easters' "Expecting Good Things" album that was nominated for a 2011 GRAMMY, and subsequently the song has been placed on the Gaither Homecoming "Majesty" CD and DVD recorded live on an Alaskan cruise.

Raised in a musical family in Indiana, Tarryn grew up singing in churches and at private and corporate parties with her sister and mom. Her earliest memories include listening to the music of Elvis, Olivia Newton John, and the Carpenters, and through the years her influences have been diverse, ranging from Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson to James Taylor, the Eagles, and Eva Cassidy.

Since coming to Nashville, Tarryn has released two CD compilations of original co-written songs, and many of the recordings were co-produced by hit songwriter/producer Steve Dean. Her most recent project was released at the beginning of 2011 by Luna Chica Records, a Nashville based independent label that focuses on internet promotion and distribution (www.lunachicarecords.com).
