Legendary DEAD KENNEDYS guitarist EAST BAY RAY and current Dead Kennedys vocalist SKIP McSKIPSTER from the WYNONA RIDERS, have formed an exciting new band, THE KILLER SMILES. Drummer STEVE WILSON and bassist GREG REEVES round out the lineup. WILL BE PLAYING DEAD KENNEDYS SONGS!!!!!!! Posh Boy darlings of yesteryear? CHANNEL 3 will be making the jaunt back down to the Shakedown with their liquor lipped swagger. Always a good time & a Shakedown favorite as the booze will be flowing and all of their anthems jammed. If you haven't already, check out their documentary dvd "One More For All My True Friends" for an introspective look at their whole career and definitely worth picking up. There's a reason why the youngins are still picking up their records & still screaming along. L.A. singer, songwriter Johnny Madcap, formerly of the punk rock band Madcap, (Side one Dummy, Victory Records), has formed a new rock and roll outfit called JOHNNY MADCAP & the DISTRACTIONS. The Distractions, a group of low slung, "guitar slinger" types are the perfect compliment to Johnny's raw pop sensablities. Together, Johnny and the band are simply obsessed with one thing, - turning their shows into full-blown parties. Dancing, singing, shouting and carrying on like the world may end tomorrow. Expect some Powerpop ala Elvis Costello, Plimsouls, etc. Then we've got locals Coda Reactor raging like a well oiled Hardcore Rock n Roll machine bringing to mind the stylings of the Bronx, Burning Love & She Rides fronted by a modern day Jim Morrison. It's also Miles' (singer for Coda Reactor) B-Day so make sure to get the man a shot so he can get into character but I don't think he really gets out of it..
