party beCAUSE: Country Doctor Free Teen Clinic
The Medical Students Association of the University of Washington School of Medicine is honored to host the first ever MSA Fundraiser. The organization we have chosen was nominated and voted on by our student body-- the Country Doctor Free Teen Clinic.
About the Clinic:
The Country Doctor Youth Clinic (aka the Country Doctor Free Teen Clinic) is dedicated to providing free medical and social services to homeless and street involved youths, ages 13-23, and has been doing so for over thirty years. It is housed in the Country Doctor Community Clinic at no cost to them. It is an attractive, well designed clinic site and the host clinic is extremely supportive and generous. The clinic, which operates two evenings per week, respectfully provides care, labs tests as well as prescription and over-the-counter medications at no cost to the youth. The staff is University of Washington Adolescent Medicine faculty, resident physicians, medical students, and volunteers. In addition, volunteer complementary providers including a licensed acupuncturist and licensed massage therapist provide care under the supervision of the precepting physician.
The clinic operates very simply without significant administration costs. Funding for Country Doctor Youth Clinic is minimal and includes donations from two churches and two part-time salaried staff funded by HealthCare for the Homeless. Northwest Hospital provides our lab testing pro bono.

About the event:
This event is being run almost entirely out of donations and the 100% of the cost of your ticket will be going directly to support the clinic. In addition to a silent auction and raffle that will run through the course of the evening, you will be able enjoy music performed by the UWSOM Musicians, drinks, and appetizers.
