An Evening in Old Vienna
An Evening in Old Vienna will feature music by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, three masters who lived in one of the centers of the musical universe during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Opening with an example of Harmoniemusik (wind ensemble music) by Beethoven, followed by the familiar string serenade by Mozart (Eine kleine Nachtmusik), the program will conclude with Schubert's incomparable Mass in G Major, featuring the Austin College A Cappella Choir and faculty soloists. As part of the Austin College Homecoming Weekend festivities for 2015, the evening will include several alumni and student performers, as well as professional colleagues from throughout the region.
