RACHMANINOFF: Vespers (All Night Vigil)
Vespers, or All Night Vigil, is not only one of the most beautiful choral works of all time, it also represents one of the greatest achievements of Sergei Rachmaninoff, the great pianist and composer of the turn of the last century. This haunting work is based on chants from the Russian Orthodox Liturgy. The Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys sing the work in its entirety in the original Slavonic. Soloists include Bryan Register and Lucile Beer join the Cathedral Choir.
