LyonPride Music & Shred Head Inc Presents PRIMER 55 With Saint Dog @ Domino Room Sept 16th with Special Guests performances Kali Connect, Kleverkill, Speaker Minds, and Amerakin Overdose
PRIMER 55 Formed in 1997 by guitarist /bassist/ songwriter Bobby Burns, PRIMER 55 hit the ground running after the release of their self-titled debut album on the independent label Propellant Transmissions in 1999. Not even 6 months after its release Primer 55 signed a contract with Island/DefJam Records, releasing their second studio album, Introduction to Mayhem on January 25, 2000. The album featured app...earances from Incubus turntablist Chris Kilmore and Hed PE frontman Jared. Tours with Staind, Biohazard, Vision of disorder, Godsmack, Soulfly and Ozzfest 2000 among others soon followed.
On August 14, 2001, Primer 55 released their third studio album, The New Release. It peaked at 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and 102 on the Billboard 200. The album's single, "This Life" peaked at 37 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. In 2002, the band performed as the opening act at the 2002 Gathering of the Juggalos in Peoria, Illinois. Years of non-stop touring eventually took it toll on the band with various member changes so in 2003 Bobby decided to take a break from the band and joined Soulfly as bassist until 2010.
In 2007 after recharging his batteries, the band signed with Crash Music Inc. and released their fourth studio album, Family for Life on November 6, 2007. After the release of the album, former frontman Jason "J-Sin" Luttrell left the band, due to personality clashes with co-founder Burns over Jasons ongoing drug and alcohol addictions. Bobby Burns is the only remaining member of the original Primer 55. The band toured non stop ever since and performed at the 2008 Gathering of the Juggalos along side Twiztid, Ice T and 2 live crew. In early 2010 Jason Luttrell aka Jsin returned to the band after a 2 year absence.
SAINT DOG Was an original member of the Kottonmouth Kings along with D-Loc and Brad Daddy X. He started his career as part of the hip hop group P.T.B. (P-Town Ballers) along with D-Loc and Johnny Richter. Daddy X had joined the group, and Johnny Richter had left for personal reasons. The three remaining members formed the Kottonmouth Kings. He contributed to their first three releases (Stoners Reeking Havoc, Royal Highness, and Hidden Stash) before leaving to pursue a career with his brother, Big Hoss. A small feud between Saint Dog and the Kottonmouth Kings had started after the departure of Saint from the group, but quickly simmered down and soon after disappeared all together. Saint Dog is currently signed to Suburban Noize Records.
