Arborea with The Reneaus and The American Freedom Machine
The American Freedom Machine will close out this show with music that sounds like Kentucky in September. Their indie-country tunes such as 'Big Ol' Country Girl' and 'Bluegrass Sunsets' come from the four band members swapping guitars and banjos, pedal steel and sometimes a bass guitar made out from cardboard.
NPR's World Cafe recently featured Arborea and this is what they had to say:
The husband and wife folk duo Arborea has been making music since 2005 and finally seem poised to break out. Shanti and Buck Curran live in the western mountains of Maine and are already names in psychedelic music circles. The recently released Red Planet, the band's fourth LP, will likely expand on that audience.
The Reneaus will open the night with a mix of genres from their 6-piece band of family and friends from Bowling Green, KY. The tracks from their debut album "Room for Roses" bounce around with Ashley Cooper Winn's enticing vocals, strong bass lines, and some spirited guitars and strings.
