Savor Cypress A Night of Perfect Pairing to Benefit Savor the Sound
With Grammy Award winning/rock n roll hall of famer Garth Hudson from "The Band" and "Last Waltz" (Scorsese) and His Wife Maud (Soulful Vocalist)as special guests of Eric Fridrich (Guitar, Harmonica, Voice), Rashi Stephens (Miss India, Miss Puget Sound) Along with the unique pairing of wines, music, cuisine and the personalities of their makers giving the best of the Northwest combine their collective mastery to benefit youth music education. Come get inspired by an accessible multitude of passion.
Bellevue, WA Local wine bar, Cypress, presents a special evening of outstanding Washington wines and their makers, paired with cuisine and entertainment, to benefit Savor the Sound's music education programs for children.
On Saturday August 27th, 7pm, Cypress Lounge & Wine Bar at the Westin Bellevue, presents "Savor Cypress" a unique and innovative presentation of wine, music and cuisine exclusively culled from local winemakers, chefs and musicians. Anchored by a worthy cause, one hundred percent of ticket sale proceeds will benefit Seattle-based non-profit Savor the Sound, whose mission is to transform the lives of youth through a radical approach to music education. Donations from the evening will help establish a preschool jam program in Bellevue.
Savor Cypress guests will have a 'backstage-pass' to the best Washington Wines on four themed stages, and opportunities to win prizes. A small-lot artisan winemaker will be at each stage to tell the stories behind their wines which will be expertly paired with fresh Northwest culinary selections and live musical entertainment. Award-winning winemakers donating their product and personalities to Savor Cypress include Morgan Lee with Covington Cellars, George and Sara Papanikolaou with Open Road, Gordy Rawson with Chatter Creek, and Dr. Wade Wolfe with Thurston Wolfe. Miss Puget Sound, Rashi Stephens, Garth Hudson will also be in attendance to support Savor the Sound.
"We are thrilled at the opportunity to join some of our favorite local winemakers with some of our favorite dishes, to the backdrop of such an entertaining event to help support the important work of Savor the Sound," said Paul Peralta, Director of Operations at the Westin Bellevue.
Special guests include nationally-recognized musicians, Eric Fridrich (guitar), Steve Kim (bass), Andre Feriante (flamenco guitarist) and Leif Totusek (guitar) who will perform songs specially chosen to color the experience for event guests, and discuss how wine and art influences their music. The evening will include a special performance from Savor the Sound scholarship recipients, as well as an 'after-party jam'.
This event marks a follow-up to Savor the Sound's successful "Taste the Music" fundraising performances launched earlier this year at Seattle's La Spiga. Co-founder Eric Fridrich commented, "We really respect how Cypress stays so loyal to Northwest artists, from winemakers to musicians. Their passion for wine parallels our passion for music education, and their generosity in donating 100% of ticket proceeds to our cause well it's just amazing."
