Breaking Glass presents Claudia Schreier & Company
On August 8, 2015, choreographer and 2014 Breaking Glass Project winner Claudia Schreier is bringing together some of today's most celebrated professional dancers, composers and musicians for Claudia Schreier & Company, a one-night-only performance featuring a full evening of her own work, at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in NYC.
The performance will feature dancers from seven professional companies, including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Dance Theatre of Harlem, performing five ballets choreographed by Ms. Schreier.
The program includes 3 world premieres:
Almost Morning, set to an original score composed for Ms. Schreier by multi-Emmy Award winning composer Jeff Beal (House of Cards) and performed live onstage by a piano/string quartet
Vigil, a pas de deux to sacred choral music by Tomás Luis de Victoria and Sergei Rachmaninoff, surrounded onstage by 20-member choir Tapestry
Pulse, a driving full-company work set to Dutch composer Douwe Eisenga's electrifying Piano Concerto: I
The performance will also feature new productions of Anomie, a 2010 ACDFA Gala Selection, with live piano accompaniment, and Harmonic, winner of the 2014 Breaking Glass Project, set to another thrilling score by Mr. Eisenga.
