2015 Mosaic World Film Festival - Spotlight Feature Screening and Opening Night Event
Come to the opening night event of the 2015 Mosaic World Film Festival!
This is a special night to open the fest and learn more about the films that will screen over the course of the MWFF weekend.
Tickets for this event and screening are $10.00. These are our VIP tickets that will allow you access to all of the screening sessions for the entire 2015 fest!!
Cocktails and our red carpet arrival event starts at 5:30 and goes until 7:00. At 7:00 we will screen our 2015 "Mosaic Spotlight Award" winning film "Kumiko: The Treasure Hunter" (http://kumikothetreasurehunter.com/) which is written, produced, and directed by the Zellner Brothers.
The Zellners' latest film Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter starring Rinko Kikuchi premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at Sundance 2014 and internationally at the 64th Berlinale. It was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards (Best Actress and Best Director) and will be distributed by Amplify Releasing in 2015.
Kumiko focuses on a Tokyo office worker (Rinko Kikuchi) who becomes obsessed with a fictional movie that she mistakes for a documentary. Fixating on a scene where stolen cash is buried in North Dakota, she travels to America to find it.
The night's events will wrap-up with the official opening of the fest by MWFF Director Jerry LaBuy, including the announcement of the festival award winners and a detailed description of the weekend's events.
