The Season's 10th Birthday Bash with The Inventions Trio Feat. Bill Mays & The Finisterra Trio

Join us in celebrating the last 10 years of fantastic shows!

On October 13, 2005, The Seasons presented its first musical event. Many of you may remember the magic of that night, hearing great music in the stunning acoustics of the Seasons Performance Hall. The band was The Inventions Trip feat. Bill Mays, one of the finest jazz ensembles in the nation. Within a few months, audiences were treated to our first jaw- dropping concert by The Finisterra Trio, who soon became internationally known recording artists on the Naxos label.

The Inventions Trio:

A brand new group: two classically-trained jazz masters of the piano and trumpet have joined with a marvelously gifted and classically-trained cellist to explore the intersection of chamber music and jazz, to "find the chamber music in jazz and the jazz in chamber music," performing fresh interpretations of well-known classical themes, jazz classics, and original works.

Bill Mays

The artistry of Bill Mays is beyond category. With deep roots in jazz, gospel, pop and classical music Bill's eclectic career as a pianist, composer and arranger spans more than five decades. On hundreds of recordings, Bill's concert and recording credits include work with artists as diverse as Ron Carter, Al Cohn, Buddy DeFranco, Benny Golson, Freddie Hubbard, Al Jarreau, Barry Manilow, Shelly Manne, Red Mitchell, Gerry Mulligan, Art Pepper, Bud Shank, Frank Sinatra, Sonny Stitt, Toots Thielemans, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Sarah Vaughan, Phil Woods and Frank Zappa.

The Finisterra Piano Trio:

Kwan Bin Park, violin
Kevin Krentz, cello
Tanya Stambuk, piano

Finis, "the end". Terra: "the earth". With each member from different ends of the earth, the Seattle-based Finisterra Trio has been together since 2004. They have been winners in the Zinetti International Chamber Music and Greenlake National Competitions, where they also won the Audience Prize. Known for keen interpretive work, Finisterra breathes old-world vitality into modern works, the standard repertoire, and lesser known works that only need imagination. Finisterra Trio is Ensemble-in-Residence at The Seasons Concert Hall in Yakima, Washington. In 2008 the Trio also became Artists-in-Residence at the Phoenix Concert Series in New York City. Individually, the three players come from an impressive musical background. Members of the trio have won numerous competitions both as soloists and in chamber ensembles, have been heard in such prestigious halls as New York's Lincoln Center, Chicago's Orchestra Hall, Seattle's Benaroya Hall and have been heard on many major studio album projects, Hollywood films, video games, and commercials.
