B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls Present The Golden Bowl
The B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls (The B.A.D. Girls), Northern California's premiere women's flat track roller derby league, will be hosting a hard hitting roller derby tournament August 12th to 14th at Oakland Convention Center (550 10th Street Oakland, CA 94607).
Visiting Leagues The Windy City Rollers All Stars of Chicago, The Texecutioners of the Texas Rollergirls, and Detroit Derby Girls All Stars will compete in a 3-day Round Robin tournament with B.A.D.'s all star team, The Golden Girls, to determine who takes home The Golden Bowl trophy and gets bragging rights over the other three teams.
=====About the Tournament=====
The Golden Bowl will showcase the strongest level of competition the Bay Area has ever seen in Flat Track Derby.
The Windy City Rollers and Detroit Derby Girls are currently ranked #1 and #3 respectively in the North Central Region, and the Texecutioners are ranked #2 in their South Central region. Your home team the Golden Girls are currently ranked 4th in the very competitive Western Region. These teams are well matched and competition will be tight and fierce!
Friday night the ladies from the Motown hope to come out singing in their bout against the throat-cutting Texecutioners, and the Bay Area will attempt to remain solid gold while Windy City tries to blow them over. On Saturday hard core rivals Detroit and Windy City face off in a grudge match for the title of #1 in their region, and B.A.D. plays a Texas team that ended their quest for a national title at last year's championships with a narrow 13 point victory. Sunday B.A.D. will play Detroit, Texas will play Windy City, and final win-loss records will be tallied to see who takes home the trophy!
Doors will open at 5 pm on Friday, 4pm Saturday, and 9am Sunday. A full tournament schedule will be made available online shortly. Please check the B.A.D. website for updates.

This event is expected to sell-out online. Limited tickets will be available at the door.

Dedicated B.A.D. fans have earned a reputation for raucousness and will be sure to be out in full black and gold regalia in order to compete with Texas fans' signature "bloody chainsaw" get-ups. Any fans wearing a gold shirt, pants, or face paint will get a FREE raffle ticket!

Established in 2004, the B.ay A.rea D.erby (BAD) Girls are a full contact, women's flat track roller derby league consisting of five teams: The San Francisco ShEvil Dead, The Oakland Outlaws, The Richmond Wrecking Belles, The Berkeley Resistance, and a traveling all-star team, the nationally-ranked Golden Girls.
As proud members of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the official governing body for modern roller derby, the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls are a non-profit 501(c)(3), fully volunteer-driven, skater-owned-and-operated
organization that gives back to the community that has supported them since 2004.
